Therapy Aide
Job Responsibilities
- Assist therapists in assessments, implementation of PT/OT/ST interventions, patient and caregiver guidance, and facilitation of group activities
- Perform basic Therapy Assistant (TA) duties safely, including manual handling, mobility assistance, use of walking aids, vital signs monitoring, emergency response, and compliance with safety precautions
- Observe patient responses, recognise discomfort or psychosocial issues, and report observations promptly to therapists
- Support caregiver training, wheelchair and PMA mobilisation, community reintegration activities, and application of electrophysical agents (EPA) under supervision
- Independently conduct prescribed outcome measures and lead group activities, including logistical coordination
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, incident reporting, and root cause analysis
- Support research activities, including patient identification, recruitment, and administration of simple standardised assessments under supervision
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to learners; foster a positive and supportive learning environment
- Uphold professional standards in ethics, accountability, communication, self‑management, and professional boundaries
- Support daily operations through compliance with equipment cleaning and storage protocols, routine inventory checks, and reporting of discrepancies
- Contribute to effective team coordination, smooth daily operations, and identification and management of potential risks in line with Ren Ci Hospital policies
Job Requirements
- GCE “O” or “N” Level certification is an advantage but not mandatory
- Certification in a Therapy Assistant / Aide course from a recognised institution is an advantage but not essential
- No professional registration or licensure required
- Prior experience as a Therapy Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is an advantage
- Able to work effectively as a team player, collaborating with peers towards holistic patient care
- Demonstrates responsibility, and reliability in carrying out duties
- Upholds the honour, dignity, and interests of the organisation
- Compassionate, patient, empathetic, and able to relate well to patients
- Maintains professional ethics, accountability, and integrity in all aspects of work
