Job Responsibilities

BR  BROAD FUNCTION

  • The Care Associate (CA) will provide home-based personal care services which aims to assist clients with their daily activities of living, to enable them to be taken care of and live to assist client with their daily activities of living, to enable them to be taken care and live in the comfort and security of their own home.
  • Duties include but not limited to companionship, personal hygiene, medical escort, grocery shopping, meal preparation, feeding and light housekeeping. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with personal care tasks, and activities of daily living ("ADLs") such as showering, toileting, brushing teeth, cleaning of dentures, lifting, transferring and positioning of client, filing of nails, assisting with orals, and NGT or PEG tube feeding.
  • Assist with instrumental activities of daily living ("IADLs"), including light housekeeping and laundry, assistance with medication and simple errands such as grocery shopping.
  • Provide companionship and engage in mind-stimulating, recreational and leisure activities with client.
  • Performing simple maintenance exercises as prescribed by a registered therapist,
  • Provide medical escort services for clients who need to attend medical appointments.
  • Complete comprehensive and concise visit reports to ensure proper documentation.
  • Any other duties (including admin duties) as assigned by reporting officer.

Job Requirements

  • Locals

    • GCE N Level

    • Attained training in either one of the following courses:

    - WSQ Higher Certificate/ Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care)

    - ITE Approved Training Centre Healthcare (Home Care) programme

  • At least 1 year of working experience as care staff in the home care setting

  • Able to use local language and dialects

  • Must be client-oriented, self-directed, independent yet able to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and have good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Able to complete visit reports.

  • Have a valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification.

  • Able to work 5.5 days work week (rostered on weekends/PH)
