Executive, Clinical Operations
Job Responsibilities
The Executive is responsible for processing and facilitating efficient patient admissions to ensure optimal bed occupancy at all Ren Ci Hospital (RCH) facilities.
Referral Assessment
- Retrieve and process referrals to assess for eligibility by reviewing medical and nursing needs.
- Ensure referrals are processed for acceptance consideration within 1 working day.
- Solicit advice and recommendations from other departments (eg. medical, nursing) for complex cases.
- Seek clarification from referring institutions where required.
- Liaise with Medical Social Workers and Nurses when processing referrals from Nursing Homes (NH) and Chronic Sick Unit (CSU).
- Liaise with referring institutions to provide an update of assessment outcome and provide recommendations for alternatives where suitable.
Admission
- Facilitate efficient admissions process with minimal waiting time.
- Assign beds, communicate admission information (ward, bed and time of transfer) to the referring institution, and follow through to ensure actualisation of admission.
- Liaise with Nursing Home administrative teams, Business Office and Nursing team to facilitate the admission process.
- Ensure that all necessary clinical information is available upon admission.
- Advise patient and care-giver(s) on the facilities and services available in the organisation when required.
Bed Occupancy
- Closely monitor impending discharges to ensure efficient forward planning of admissions.
- Ensure Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) in all RCH facilities are aligned with the budgeted BOR target for the financial year.
Data Collection and Submission
- Ensure relevant data is collected accurately daily to support the regular evaluation of performance indicators.
- Generate reports and update presentation slides on a regular basis.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of reports to MOH.
- Provide regular and timely updates to department head, the management and regulatory authorities as required.
Others
- Actively lead/ participate in quality improvement projects at the Department/ Hospital-wide level.
- Provide recommendations for improvement to efficiency of processes.
- Participate in any other responsibilities and duties as assigned by Supervisors.
Job Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Healthcare or Social Service courses preferred.
- At least 3 years of working experience within the healthcare or social care sectors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work effectively as an individual, and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills, highly organised and meticulous.
